12 Wildly Overused Stock Photos

Please don’t make us look at these ever again.

Ok, ok… I’ll admit it! I, too, am guilty as charged.

Yes, on numerous occasions I was indeed too lazy to keep looking for a good cover photo beyond what I could find on the first page of the listed suggestions on good ol’ Unsplash.

That was until I found out that probably thousands (if not tens of thousands?) of other writers very obviously couldn’t be bothered looking for a unique and original photo themselves.

A few stock photos are so tremendously worn out that — if used — I can’t find the motivation to read the corresponding article. Maybe I’m doing this as a matter of principle. Maybe I’m thinking that if the author couldn’t be troubled spending a few minutes searching for a good photo then that author might have probably not invested too much time in producing quality content either.

And again — I have fallen prey to this laziness myself. So I’m no better than anyone. Just so you know.

Just please — don’t use these photos.
